Went with Royal Balloon Cappadocia on a comfort flight, very professionally organised from go to woe. Flight was perfect, quiet, smooth, had the best experience. Perfect precision landing back on trailer, piloted by Omur Sekeryapan. Champagne toast to finish off, one great lifetime experience not to be missed.

Just as they say. They pick you up at the hotel. They take you to the place where the balloon is already being inflated. You take a tea or coffee with a piece of pastry while you take pictures and see the rest of balloons (dozens) that begin to rise. They put you in the basket and enjoy an unforgettable flight!

Visiting Hagia Sophia with skip-the-line tickets was an incredible experience. The entry process was seamless and saved us so much time compared to the long lines outside. Stepping inside was absolutely breathtaking—seeing the massive dome, the blend of Christian mosaics and Islamic calligraphy, and the scale of the architecture made it feel like walking through multiple layers of history at once. The atmosphere was powerful, especially with the natural light streaming in, and it really gave me chills thinking about all the centuries of people who have stood in the same spot. The crowds were large, but moving smoothly, and having the tickets ready made the entire visit stress-free and enjoyable. Truly one of the highlights of our trip and a place I’ll never forget.

Our tour guide Buse was amazing. She was very informative and answered everyone's questions with a detailed answer. She definitely made our experience better than if we would have gone without a guide. I definitely recommend doing the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia tour with her.

Finding the meeting point was OK but there are guides for different organisations who hang around but don't engage to help you find your particular tour. Once on the tour it was fine with interesting information and in good English. I wouldn't recommend Headout, as our tour of the Topkapi palace was far more challenging there was no tour at our allocated time and we had to return an hour later which disrupted our day. Once on the tour the guide was very good.

Hagia Sophia | Cathedral-turned-mosque

Hagia Sophia is a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated in the heart of Istanbul. It was first built in the 6th century as an Eastern Orthodox Cathedral but later turned into a mosque during the Ottoman occupation in Turkey. Today, Hagia Sophia is an iconic melting pot of a myriad of cultures. Read on to learn more about the Hagia Sophia, how to book Hagia Sophia skip-the-line tickets, and other details to plan your visit.

Things to know before you book Hagia Sophia tickets

  • Choose Hagia Sophia skip-the-line tickets to bypass long ticketing lines and access the second level of the mosque, saving you up to 30 minutes of wait. However, there is a mandatory security check before entering Hagia Sophia, so expect a 30-minute wait on average and up to 60 minutes in the high season.
  • Opt for a guided tour to fully understand the long and complex history of Hagia Sophia, which is nearly 1,500 years old.
  • Combine your Hagia Sophia tour with a visit to other iconic sites in Istanbul like the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and Basilica Cistern to make the most of your day.
  • Since Hagia Sophia is a place of worship, visitors must follow a dress code. Both men and women are required to wear appropriate and respectful clothing that covers the shoulders, chest, and knees. Women also need to cover their hair with a scarf.
  • Since Hagia Sophia is an active mosque, it is closed for non-worshippers during prayer times. Ensure you check these timings and plan your visit accordingly.
  • While most of Hagia Sophia is wheelchair-friendly, certain areas may not be easy to navigate by wheelchair users or those with limited mobility due to steps and cobblestone pathways.
  • The meeting point for the tour will be located conveniently near Hagia Sophia. The exact meeting point details will be provided in the voucher, which you will receive after booking.
